The BUTTERFLY TR21 Table Tennis Table is a great gift for grandchildren - if only to get them away from TV and electronic games. Product quality is excellent and delivery was prompt - with no damage to this 180-pound product. BTW, the table comes with a net; but, no balls or paddles.
As others reported, the table requires two people who can lift about 60-pounds each to assemble. I recruited my son-in-law. Assembly takes about 3-hours because there are about 60 fastners - ranging from 32 small screws to larger components.
Instructions are clear and readily understandable. They state that the table can be assembled with a Phillips-head screwdriver and an adjustable wrench. While that is true, I strongly recommend the following tools: a box cutter for opening packaging, a power drill with a good clutch and fine speed control, 9, 10 & 11 mm sockets for the drill, a 3/8" drive socket set with 9, 10 & 11 mm sockets and a No. 1 Phillips head screw bit for the drill.
Once assembled, we enjoyed playing on the table, which has a solid 3/4-inch, well-painted surface. The table also has twin paddle & ball holders. An adult can readily fold/unfold the table and roll it away. Our family is very pleased.

The other reviews are all pretty accurate. It is a great table, good true bounce. And I particularly like how easy it is to fold up and take down. Couldn't be easier. As other reviewers have noted, it took almost exactly three hours to assemble, but it really wasn't difficult. Just go slowly and follow the directions carefully, and get a helper when it comes to lifting each half of the actual table top. I'm keeping mine outside, under a carport, with the Butterfly Cover on it (also highly recommended at from Amazon). I used to play a lot as a kid, and I'm happy to be playing again. Table suits us perfectly. And though it's a little pricey, the free shipping made it comparable to the bargain tables, and it's well worth the few extra dollars.

pretty good table. the steel frame is not as sturdy as i wanted but for the price range it's great. (if you want tournament quality you have to pay at least 800). but provided that I'm not going to move this table around too much in the basement the frame really isn't an issue for me. the wood top has a nice feel and the bounce is great. can't complain. -1 star for the net design. the net that comes with it is a little cheap. and the net support is attached to the table assembly so even if I want to replace the net with a better set it may get in the way.
assembly time is just over 2 hours for me with 2 persons working on it so it's really not bad at all.

I have this table now for a month and it is very nice. The table top is dark green and has a professional quality to it. It went together easily and took about 3 hours by myself. The table size is actually 11/16" of an inch when I measured it. Shipping was free and it arrived in 4 days!! I love it and so does my family.

There were a couple of huge problems with this product. First of all it said it was eligible for prime shipping which is supposed to mean two days. In fact it took 8 days to get there. The reason I picked this item was because it was eligible for prime shipping.
Secondly, it was a gift for a friend in another state. It's a huge package, which she had to have her father have come over to help her open. After they started getting it set up, there was a missing part. I contacted Amazon, by phone, and then by e-mail, and all they said was they don't replace parts. The only thing she could have done was pack the huge thing back up, and ship it back to Amazon so they could send her another one, and who knows if the new one whould have had all the parts.
I doubt that I will ever again order something large like this from Amazon as a gift.
Post script: A few days after I called and e-mailed Amazon, and ordered and paid for another net, they finally e-mailed me the phone number of the manufacturer. If it not been a gift this would have resolved everything. I wasn't comfortable asking the gift recipient to now return the extra net. But it did give me more confidence in Amazon to resolve such issues, assuming again that it wasn't a gift. I now know to push for the phone number of the manufacturer.
